Wordless Wednesday

I have really been slacking off in working out & it hit me when my husband said, "that I have gotten comfortable since lately & don't workout"...it hurt my feelings a little bit, but it's very true. I have been slacking & really need to get back on my grind & getting back into shape. So this is what I will be doing for the next few months.

Wish me luck, I'm starting tonight & I know I'm going to be so sore tomorrow that even my fingers will hurt to type to let you know how it went.....lol.

Another busy weekend

So my family come up to Jersey from Maryland for the weekend to help my mom fix up the 1st flr apartment at her house. The chic that used to live there was so dirty & disgusting she moved (w/o letting my mom know ahead of time). I am angry to say that she was a friend of mine but I never knew she was going to act the way she did & have the apartment the way she did while she lived there. 

Anyways, my uncle Vic, my aunt Edith, my cousin Chris come from MD to help along with myself, Angel, his dad, my mom, & our friend Fabian all pitched in & fixed everything up. We painted & put down new carpet in the whole apartment. It looks great, we had a great team. I mean I'm extremely tired but it was all worth it in the end. 

I started on this whole project on Wednesday, Angel & I went to Home Depot to buy a lot of the things that we needed ex: paint, rollers, a new lock, blinds, tape, etc. Thursday & Friday I helped my mom clean the place before we took out the rug & started painting. We didn't go home until 11PM. Saturday morning we ran some errands before going back to my mom's & get started working again at 11AM until 11PM. Yesterday Angel left to Arkansas for his job training until Friday, only to come home & leave to drill that same night. So in the middle of working on the apartment I had to stop what I was doing to take him to the airport just to come back & work so more. We all called it a night at 4PM. We had a nice lil BBQ ate & my family was on their way back to Maryland around 6 & I finally got home to feed the dog & relax at 7PM. Skyped with Angel around 8 until we went out to dinner with the other guys he is sharing his rental car with for the week. 

Now, I am here at work hoping this week goes by fast so I can start my very much needed Spring Break next week. 

**On another note; I'm really craving Chipotle right now. I know really random but I am.....lmao**

Apartment Hunting

I know that moving is frustrating because I already did it once when my husband & I first got married. We moved into a basement studio. I mean we love it because it's our own place, our first place, but we really need a living room. We have a kitchen, dinning room, & our bedroom, we desperately need a living room because I hate when friends come over & we are all on chairs or the floor (I don't like ppl sitting on my bed) & it gets uncomfortable.

Now I have been looking for at least a 1 or 2 bedroom apartment for 2 months and nothing that we like yet. Hopefully we get to find soomething that we can stay there until we start looking or building our house. Our goal is to have our own house in about 5 yrs. Wish us luck.

Military Wifey Survey

So I was looking through my dashboard & saw that Mrs. S over at The Adventures of Mr. Superman & Mrs. S. was doing a survey & decided to borrow it....lol. Thanks Mrs. S!!!

 

1. How long have you been a military wife? It's about to be a year on June 11th, 2011!

2. What branch of service is your husband? US Marine Corps

 

3. Active/Reserve? Reserve

 

4. What is his job? 0311 my husband is a grunt

 

5. How many deployments have you gone through? We were supposed to go through one this May but as of now it looks like he is going next year.

6. Camo or Dress uniforms on your man? He looks good either way but I think he looks so sexy in his Desert Cami's w/ sleeves rolled up.

7. What do you like about being a military wife? I just love being so full of pride for what my husband does whether he is a reservist or not.

8. Do you live on base? No we don't get those benefits, but hopefully his paper work goes through so he can switch over to active so we can live on base.

9. What is your favorite base so far? We have never lived on base :( 

10. What is the hardest part of the military life? Never having anything certain, post poning vacation, & the long periods w/o him. But I woudn't trade my life for anything in the world. I am madly in love with my husband. 

11. Do you go to the grocery store or Commissary? We try & get everything at the Commissary about once every month but for quick things we just go to the grocery store.

 

12. Do you work or stay at home? I'm currently working but maybe when we have our first baby I'll be a stay at home mom.  

13. Do you have a lot of military wife friends? Nope, my bloggy friends are my milspouse friends! I have a few that live in other states.

14. Do you prefer Walmart or the BX/PX/NEX/MCX? Walmart, but if we had a MCX like Camp Lejuene or PI it would be a different story.

15. How did your husband propose? He proposed over looking the NY skyline on Sept 7th, 2009.

16. Did you marry him after he joined or before? After he joined but we were together for 3 1/2 yrs prior to him joining the USMC.

 

17. How long have you been together? Since March 2006

18. Any kids? 1 fur baby named Hope our yorkie/toy fox terrier puppy who is 4 months on the 14th of April.

 

19. Any kids yet to come?  We are hoping we can get pregnant before he deploys next year. Nothing would make us happier.

 

20. Is your husband one of those "I am soldier hear me HOOAH" kind of guys? I think he is 50 50 about it sometimes...lol

 

21. Have you ever done combatives with your husband? No but sometimes he shows me a thing or two....lol

 

22. How many bases have you lived at? None for now.

 

23. If you could change one thing about the military? To be a little fater with their paper work & keep their orginal dates for things.

24. Do you like military balls? OMG, I went to our first one this past November & it was sooo much fun.

 

25. Where does your family live? Our parents & his siblings live in NJ a few blocks from us, we have family in PR, NC, IL, MD, FL, CA, LA, TX, & I have fmaily in Honduras.

 

26. What do you do for a job? I am an administrative assistant at a Preschool.

27. Have you ever gotten in a fight with an NCO's wife? Nope. I've only seen them briefly.

28. Name one thing you do when your husband is gone? I love to catch up on all my tv shows that I can't watch while he is home.

29. Do you think other wives do that too? Most wives do anything that makes them stay busy, atleast that is what I do.

 

 

What A Weekend....!

OMG, I have not been able to stop for 5 mins this whole weekend. It has been crazy. Since it was April Fool's on Friday the hubby decided that he would send me a text stating that his boss called him saying that the company he works for is waaaay over budget & need to make some cuts so he was getting laid off. At first my heart dropped but then I realized that it was all a joke because of it being April Fool's Day. Then while I was on my way to pick the hubby up from work he calls me again. He tells me that there has been a accident at work. When he opened to back doors to a tractor trailer the hand truck wasn't tied down properly & on the ride back from their job site it moved, so when he opens the doors it fell on his head. He had an open wound. I thought he was joking since just a 1/2 hr before he was trying to play a joke on me. I have a picture of it but it's gross. It looks worse in the picture than what it actually really is. That was our friday.

We woke up early finished going over the finally decisions of our wedding pictures to go meet with the wedding photographer. After that we went to help my SIL move, went to visit his cousin & my mom that live around the corner from us, and after all of that we went home to cook so we could eat & feed our puppy Hope who has gotten so big since we got her 2 months ago.

We went to breakfast with my friend/boss that invited us to because she wanted to talk to us. I told her that I really thought I was getting laid off for the summer.....lol. But thank God we got great news, she asked us if we can be her daughters god-parents and of course we said yes. After our lovely breakfast we went to help my aunt move into her new place we were there most of the day until around 6. We went home after that to unwind from our busy weekend & watched Army Wives along with Coming Home right after but I just couldn't anymore, I had to sleep. Now to start a busy day at work with no stopping either.
