NEW CAR!!

Yup you read right, I was able to get some money and have enough for a down pymnt on a 2004 Mazda 3i. I love my new used car......lol. I no longer have to drive in a 98 Totoya Corolla which literally a death trap of a car, I can drive over 40mph on the highway, and I don't have to worry about hitting a pot whole and have the car go crazy from side to side.

Horrible News

So at exactly 1PM today I got one of the worst news ever, my aunt Mary from Maryland called me to tell me that my cousin Johanna Paniagua passed away this morning.

I have been in shock, disbelief,  etc. since I found out.

I never told you guys the story of what happened to her but I guess this is a good a time as any.....

Back in February 11' my identical twin cousins Johanna & Cindy were involved in a horrible accident. Cindy was driving & Johanna was the passenger....according to the Cindy there day started off like any other day, they went to school, then to work, & then Cindy wanted to go to the gym but Jo was too tired to go but since she didn't want her sister to go alone she went.

Cindy asmits that she was speeding, while Jo was sleeping & in an instant she got extremely tired & fell asleep behind the wheel. Resulting in her hitting a tree. Cindy left the scene unharmed but Jo was that lucky. She had 3 broken ribs, a collapsed lung, 2 broken vertabre in her spinal, & the list goes on and on. She had to use a halo box & this Saturday it was finally taken off, but she started to have pain & she couldn't feel part of her body for some reason.

My family is thinking that this is some type of mal-practice but we won't know until we get the autopsy results. Then I will have to fly out to California for the funeral. 

I just ask that you keep my family in your prayers because it is going to be a hard few days, weeks, months, for us.

To Leave or Not To Leave......?

So I have been playing around with the idea of leaving my job at the preschool for a job in my career field which is Medical Billing. I went to school for this & worked in my field for about only 1 year after I graduated school. For some reason or another I was fired unjustly. I was on unemplyment only for 3 months until I found this great job that I am truly greatful for in every way. I love my co-workers, my job, my boss, my hours, the kids, etc. The only downfall is the fact that we don't know if we are going to have a job in the summer because our governor Chris Christie is trying to cut all funds from the preschools saying they are unnecessary & I won't ever get a raise.

My husband & I actually started talking about this situacion on Saturday & he was bringing up a lot of good points. He knows very well that I love waking up to go to work everyday but we recently found a new place & have to buy furniture so that is holding us back for another 2 months on buying my husbands car. We can't continue with the 1 car situacion even though we make it work. So we decided that I would start looking for a new job but if I don't find anything by the end of July I will continue working at the school until the follow summer. 

Wish my luck in this new journey that I am about to embark on now. 

PS~ I started looking on craisglist.com for  Medical Billing jobs & I already found 2 that would pay me btwn $17-$20 starting, that is waaaaaaaaay more then what I'm making now ($12.56). I'm gonna see if I talk to my boss today & start sending out resumes after I fix it.    

 

Trying To Save...

I would like to know why it is so hard to save. I mean my husband & I are doing great financially....thank God. But now that we only have one car we have to save to buy a another since Angel's car died during the Holidays. I am stuck taking the train to work & he uses my car to go to work.

We try to save but we are also young & like to go out so the money we have left over from our paychecks we used to go out. I'm not trying to say that we go out every weekend & spend but we since the new year started we have been going out at least one day in the weekend. Or spend money on food & have people over. So Angel & I were talking yesterday & decided that we are going to start going out either once or twice a month on the weekends so we can start saving more money.

Let's hope we don't fall in to temptation & go out more then what we agreed to do from now on.
