Sorry that I have been MIA, but just to keep you guys (for whoever still reads this thing) informed, that we have started the adoption process.
We are working with an Agency out in California called Project Cuddle. They are a non-profit organization that helps you adopt a newborn without paying all the agency fees. All you have to do is get a home study done in your home state, pay the lawyer fees, get your plane txts and hotel room, whenever you get the call that the birth mother is in labor.
You qualify by sending your paperwork from the home study and writing a letter to a birth mother. We get put into a portfolio where the birth mother's read through your profile and your letter and choose who they want as a family for their child.
We have to send another set of paper work and we can get a social worker matched to our case so we can get our home study going and send everything to Project Cuddle.
Wish us luck everyone and fingers crossed we will be adoptive parents by next year hopefully.
Congrats on deciding to adopt! The path might be long and hard but in the end you have a beautiful baby in your arms! My husband and I plan on adopting even if we are able to have our own kids. It just seems like the right thing to do. I will keep my fingers crossed for you!
