Last Call You Would Want To Get....

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. I haven't really had anything worth blogging about but now I do. 

On Thursday May 29th, 2014 around 8:15 pm I got a call that my husband had just been involved in a motorcycle accident. My world came crashing down. I was freaking out,  I didn't know how he was, if he was alive, or anything, just that I had to go to the hospital.

I get to the hospital only to find out that he wasn't there, so I started to freak out,  but thank fully the ambulance pulled up to emergency with him on the stretcher. I felt so much better when I was finally able to see him. I'm so glad that he was ok (at least alive). 

A van cut him off and caused him to go down night on RT 3 in East Rutherford, NJ. He suffered a sprained ankle and hurt his pelvis. As a result he has road rash, but thank god he was wearing his gear. He got X rays of his pelvis along with his ankle done at the hospital. Nothing was broken, but he needed crutches until he was able to put his whole weight on his left ankle. He has been home recovering but at least he is still with us. I was so grateful for having all my friends at the hospital with us until he got discharged.  

He is doing so much better a week and a half later. He is even considering going back to work tomorrow even though he is still limping.  

I am so thankful for his guardian angel (his mom) that watched over him that day. 

Hurricane Sandy

So as most of you must know by now, the East Coast has been hit really hard by Hurricane Sandy. Thank God that all my family & friends from Maryland to NY are fine. My husband & I are fine, we lost power at our home & don't know when we will get it back. Word on the street is that it might be btwn Nov 5th - Nov 10th. Hopefully it comes on before that because we are staying at my mother house because luckily her power never went out & I don't know how long we will survive here with her.....lol 

Seaside Heights (Jersey Shore), NJ is gone. The boardwalk is completely gone. 

Hoboken Path Train flooded & still suspended

In NY the taxi's are immobile because of the flood. 

To however is without power & affected I pray for you & your family. 

Me Inspiring?

I posted a picture from my p90x workout the other day.

Then I got a comment on it from a girl today that just made my day today.

After seeing that I thought that I would show ppl on Facebook and if I can change just 1 persons life then I have done my job.

After that I got another comment.

All of these positive comments are just giving me even more motivation to just keep going with my healthy lifestyle and continue working in my fitness level. I hope to reach my goal by the summer. I have been able to get down to 228 finally after staying at 230 for a couple of months. But I am going to make sure that once I hit my ultimate goal of weigh 145-150lbs I will just continue to workout and tone up. I can't wait until I am able to wear a bikini for once in my life when I go on vacation with my husband.

 

P90X

Hello world, so I know that I have neglected you guys, and I am very sorry. I have been so busy lately with school, working out, looking for a new job, and helping my friend redo her new house.

My husband was away for 2 wks from Sept 16 to the 29th (actually 28th) in NC. He surprised me and came home a day early, which was awesome but I looked like total crap when he knocked on the door, plus the house was a total mess....lol. I was still happy I was able to sleep with him again so it didn't matter.

I did the Insanity/Brazilian Butt Lift hybrid program for a good month but got bored with it, so as of Monday I started P90X Round 1 Week1. Im doing the Classic program for these next 13 wks (Oct 1st-Dec 29th) then after that I will start the Lean program in Jan after taking a wk off of exercising. I will be posting progress pictures here to let you guys see my journey, so let's see where I look by Dec. Wish me luck.

Haven't Really Talked to Him =(

So we are going into the 2nd week of my DH being away at 29 Palms & we haven't really talked except for early morning July 5th. I got in from watching the fireworks with my friend Jessica & her BF Alejandro around 10:45pm. I decided to do Insanity before bed so I did it and right after got in the shower. While I was finishing up I heard someone calling on Skype it was the hubby. I got to talk to him for about an hour and half. I was a very happy wife when I got off the phone & went to sleep. It was so good being able to hear his voice & see his sexy face.

I can wait until he is home, and according to him he told me yesterday in a quick text that he should be back in Jersey in 2 days. Which is sooner then they were supposed to come back so who really knows because I haven't spoken to him at all since.

Besides not being able to get in touch with the DH I haven't had a bad time alone. This past weekend I spent it in the pool with family & friends. I got a little color on me.

Then yesterday my best friend Kim (Partna) & Ary came over for dinner. it was the first time I cooked since Angel has been gone. Then we watched Teen Wolf while drinking a glass on wine....lol....we had a good time & I needed that because I was really missing my DH yesterday.

Hopefully I get to talk to him tonight (fingers crossed).

Hubby is at 29 Palms

He left for AT (annual training/Reservists) on Saturday. I was able to talk to him for a little on Saturday, then on Monday & didn't talk to him again until last night around 12:30am. I know it's only for 2 wks but I still miss him & he misses me too.

He left on Saturday morning to Picatinny Arsenal Army Base. I went out with my gf Jessie. we went to eat dinner at Applebee's & then went to see......

Sunday I went to my husband's cousin's house to take a dip in the pool until it started raining cats & dogs. But luckily it was only for a little while & we went right back in to keep cool.

I really didn't do anything Monday & Tuesday except hangout with my mom since she was leaving to Maryland on Tuesday night.

So I celebrated 4th of July basically by myself. I mean I went to my cousin's house for a little while and then to see the fireworks with my friend Jessie & her boyfriend. We had a good time but it was the same as previous years.

I got home around 2245 last night did some Insanity (which is going great by the way) took a quick shower right after. And thatnk God it was quick because if not I was going to miss my Skype call from my love. We talked until 0200am my time, 2300 California time. Then I had to be up at 0530 to get ready & be in at work at 0700. So I'm running on 3 1/2 hrs of sleep.

Too Young To Be Gone

So last sunday(6/24/12) my mom calls me at 7:30 am to tell me that her God-daughter Britney, my 13 yr old God-sister past away earlier that day on her way to to the hospital. She had been feeling sick while she was at the babysitters house. Her mom & my mother were at a church retreat for the weekend. So her mom gets a call around 3:30am and off she went to the babysitters house. As she got there the ambulance was putting Britney in the back of the rig. So her mom & step dad got in and went to the hospital with her. As they were on their way she was saying that her chest her and a few mins later she they started to do CPR because she past away on the way to the hospital. They tried to revive her for 45 mins until they finally said there was nothing more they could do and called it.

She had a heart murmur & had been problems latel but nothing serious, until that horrible day. We had a mass for her on Monday, then Tuesday we had a viewing for her at the church because there were too many people that loved and knew her to try and have it at a regular funeral parlor. Then the actual mass & funeral was on Wednesday there were about 1000 people. It was crazy but beautiful at the same time.

We have a new Soldier....

So my brotha from anotha motha finally finished all his training and we travelled to Ft. Jackson, Columbia, SC for his graduation on Wednesday night after my hubby, father-in-law, bro-in-law, & I all got out of work. We arrived at Columbia, SC around 15 to 0700. We rested for about an hr & got dressed for the ceremony. We went to base from our hotel to see Andy graduate.

We were so proud of him. What is so sad is that no one from his immediate family went to the ceremony or even asked him about it. (They don't have a good relationship) After the ceremony we waited around took some pictures with him. We had to wait for him to get all his gear so we can bring him back to the hotel with us and later on take him to the Airport.

After all the waiting around we took him back to the hotel. I went to sleep for awhile, we were all tired from the long ride to SC. But the guys decided to hit the pool since the weather was so nice. 

They came up stairs got ready so we can take him to the airport so he can check in at Ft. Polk, LA.

We loved the time we got to spend with him but really wished we could've had more time with him.

After we saw Andy off we went back to Ft. Jackson to explore a little & do some shopping. Went to the hotel, ate dinner and we were all knocked out by 2130. We got up around 0900 on Friday 5/4/12 and started our way back home. But before we left SC we had to make a stop. 

We had a few good laughs and too many silly pictures and I will finally end this post with one of my favorite. It's of my husband (Pharoah) killing my bro-in-law (Medusa).......LOL.

Going Down South In A Few Weeks

So our best friend Andy graduates on May 3rd, 2012 at Ft. Jackson, SC so I finally convinced my husband to take a road trip down there to see him graduate. So I took the liberty of doing everything myself and booked the Hotel, rental car, & ordered a banner to show support. So on Wednesday May 2nd we are heading down south. We are leaving after my husband gets home from work. I will drive the first few hrs and then we will switch around, I hope we make it to Ft. Jackson to his 9AM graduation ceremony. Then we are going to stay for the night at the hotel I booked and leave the following day just to give us time to rest so the trip wont be so tiring. Andy won't be able to come back home with us because he has to go report to his unit in Louisianna where he will be stationed for the next 4 years. I love the fact that he is getting stationed at Ft Polk because it gives us a reason to go and visit LA.

I've Been MIA Once Again.....

Hey everyone, I'm sorry that I have been gone for a while, but I promise I will be back on the regular. The holidays came and went, so did my 25th Birthday on the 2nd of Jan. I can't believe that I didn't post anything on here to update you guys on how I'm doing. Well I am going to school again, my first day was on the Jan 17th. I'm attending online classes at Ashford University for Education Studies. I will finsih my first course on Monday and I am getting an A so far. I'm supposed to finish with my Bachelors Degree in Dec of 2015.

Our friend Andy that went w/ me & our family to Parris Island to pick up my husband from boot just graduated from boot camp himself. But he couldn't go into the Marine Corps so he went Army. My husband & I were unable to go to his graduation because it was right smak in the middle of the week. Since I just started at my job I still didn't have personal days & if he doesn't work he doesn't get paid. So what we decided to do was save money  go to his AIT graduation in Ft. Jackson, SC in May.  

This past Tuesday was Valentine's Day. My husband are not really big on the whole holiday, but I decided to make a special dinner for the both of us and enjoy in some desserts that I also made. 

Steak with garlic potatoes along with shrimp seasoned in basil, garlic, & red pepper flakes, cooked in white wine.

Chocolate covered strawberries & cupcakes.

Our First Thanksgiving At Our Place

Well as you guess got from the title we had Thanksgiving at our place this year. We finally have a big enough place to have people over to enjoy the holiday. We had 16 people in total all together, I was running around like a kitchen without a head all week & working. But in the end it was all worth it, just to be able to spend Thanksgiving with my husband, my mother, & the rest of the family. We even had a surprise come from NC. My husbands cousin came for Thanksgiving and his wife went to Florida to see his family. 


All in all it was a great day with a lot of ups and downs but we loved have Thanksgiving at our place for the first time. 

Almost That Time Again......

for the Maine Corps Ball. Ours is this Saturday the 18th, & I am so excited to go because now this year my hubby has friends in his company & gets along with most of them. Now that means I will get to meet wives, and hopefully make new friends. I'm also excited because we are staying at the hotel and I called the desk for a reservation & asked them if they can do something special for us since we didnt get to do anything for our 1 year wedding anniversary since the hubby was away training. They said yes & that we will be surprised when we go to our room.....I can't wait to see what they have in stored for us.

Marine Ball Here I Come

I can't believe that the ball is in 2 wks for us. We are staying at the hotel this time around, & I am so excited. I already have my dress & let me tell you I have only lost 8 lbs this month but I think I look good in my dress. I already have my shoes. All I have to do that day is get my hair and nails done. 

I even told the hotel if they can do something special for us since my husband wasn't home this yr to celebrate our wedding anniversary & they are going to surprise us, which I think is awesome considering it is 5 months after our wedding anniversary. I will take lots of pictures to show all of you what they did & how the ball turned out.

 

Happy Halloween & November 1st Everyone!!

I hope everyone had a safe & fun filled Halloween weekend. I know we did, even though we got hit with the weird snow storm on Saturday. We ended getting last minute costumes to go celebrate my sister-in-laws B-Day at a club here in Elizabeth, NJ. Even though it had snowed we made the best of it. Better Weekend Then Last Weekend

So my UTI is gone....woohoo! And Friday I went to my cousin in laws 19th B-Day party, we had a blast. Then as her birthday gift we went to the Enrique Iglesias Euphoria concert, with 2 participating artists that were on tour with him; Pitbull & Prince Royce. When we bought the txts there were only the ones in the nose bleed section but we didn't care we were gonna make the best of our time there. Luckily for us we went to buy some memorabilia from the concert and tried to see if we can find some empty seats. And jackpot we hit the mother load and found awesome seats on the lower level instead of the second upper level. We had an awesome time. Our move was definitely worth it.

MIA....

Hey my lovely followers!!! Sorry I have been away for such a long time, I haven't posted anything in almost a month, or read anyones blog for that matter. I have just been so busy btwn work & home that when I finally get some down time, I just want to relax & the last thing I want to do is sit with my laptop & blog.

But just to update you guys....I love my job & everyone I work with here. I can't complain, they are like a big family & have taken me in like one of their own.

I promise that after today I will go home & read all of ya'lls posts & write my posts also.

I Got A New Job!!!!

I am so excited to tell you guys that my search is over. I actually ended up taking the job from Tuesday's call back. I am so excited to be getting paid more & to start somewhere new but I am also extremely sad to leave all the friends that I have here.


I will miss everyone I work with at the Preschool but I need to think about me & our future. We need to start saving because we would love to put money down for a house. Our plan is buy a house in 5 years but with what I was getting paid we always just had enough to pay bills & buy necessary things for the house, but now we are going to have more then enough. 


I was talking to the hubby 2 nights ago & I hope that we get pregnant soon now that we are financially ready to have a baby.

Awesome Weekend

So I had a great weekend as you can tell fromt he title of my blog, unfortunatley I forgot my camera at home when I went to the pool on base so you wont get to see anything from Saturday but on Sunday we took pictures at Dorney Park.

So on Friday night I picked up my oldest niece so she can spend the weekend with me. I had plans so she can have a great weekend. We woke up late on Saturday, we had 30 mins to get ready pack the car up, pick up my cousin with her son, & my mom. Then we headed to the Arm Base where my husband is stationed. They have a great pool on base & of course it is so cheap for us military dependants that don't live on base. I was able to take 4 guests. We were there for a good 4 hrs. I went to the commissary bought things to make sandwiches and made our lunch. We went home just so I can get ready to go to an in-laws, after that rush back home because I had to baby sit my Goddaughter until her mama called & cancelled so my niece & I went home and watched Easy A until we knocked out.

Yesterday we got up early to get dressed & ready to pick up my Partna in Crime (Kim) & head out to Allentown, PA where Dorney Park is located. We had such an awesome time just us girls. We got to the park around 10:30 got on all the water rides and lounged by the pool to work on our tan. After all that swimming around & catching rays we got hungry so we went to the car to have some lunch & change into our dry clothes. We got ready & headed back to the park to enjoy all the roller coaster along with everythng else. We took some pictures so I will share with you.......

We had such a great time that I am going agin this coming Sunday with the hubby since he is finally coming back on Saturday from the field.....yay!!!!
